About NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS), Satyawati College (Evening), University of Delhi, works under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The NSS society of Satyawati College ignites the spirit of selfless service and social responsibility among students. It stands as a beacon of service and creativity, empowering students to become agents of change. From organizing cleanliness drives and vibrant rangoli competitions during Diwali to poster-making for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, it fosters awareness and artistic expression. Through initiatives like Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra, book donation camps, and the transformative Mission Aakar — where volunteers teach underprivileged children — NSS ignites patriotism, compassion, and purpose in the youth of future India. It’s not just a society; it’s a movement that transforms lives.

Mission and Vision

“Not Me But You” — the soul of NSS isn’t just a motto, it’s a movement. It calls us to rise above self-interest and embrace the power of collective service. The spinning wheel in the logo isn’t just a symbol; it’s a tribute to Gandhian ideals of dignity in labor, unity, and transformation. Together, they weave a message that echoes through every volunteer’s heart: true change begins when we serve others before ourselves. NSS shapes not just leaders, but torchbearers of compassion, purpose, and progress. Mission Aakar is a heartfelt initiative by Satyawati College’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, dedicated to providing education and support to underprivileged children. The mission’s holistic approach not only imparts knowledge but also provides essential study materials, ensuring that no child is left behind due to a lack of resources. This movement aims to shape brighter futures and bridge the educational divide, with the youth of today empowering the leaders of tomorrow.

Mission Aakar – An Initiative

Towards Educational Empowerment

Mission Aakar is a flagship project under the National Service Scheme (NSS) that focuses on promoting education among underprivileged children residing in slum areas. Through this initiative, NSS volunteers regularly visit the communities of Lalbagh and Azadpur to teach and guide children who have limited access to quality education. The primary objective of Mission Aakar is to provide holistic learning opportunities — fostering academic growth, moral values, and personal development. The project aspires to empower these young learners by equipping them with essential knowledge and life skills that contribute to their overall growth and future prospects. Mission Aakar reflects the NSS spirit of selfless service and social responsibility, striving to build an inclusive society where education becomes a right and opportunity for every child.
